Badghis Hospital Equipped with Vocational Training Center for Midwives and Nurses

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced the opening of a “Skills Laboratory” at the provincial hospital of Badghis for vocational training of nurses and midwives. This center has been established with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of healthcare staff in the maternity care sector and emergency management.
According to UNICEF, every mother and newborn have the right to be attended by a skilled and trained healthcare worker during childbirth. The organization emphasized that providing practical training can play a crucial role in reducing risks during delivery.
Based on the information provided, Dr. Liluma and Dr. Sheba are responsible for the practical training of nurses and midwives at this new center. The goal of these trainings is to enhance their skills in managing emergency situations and saving the lives of mothers and newborns.
UNICEF added that this program was launched with financial support from the Asian Development Bank, and its training model has been implemented in 10 provinces and a total of 50 health centers across the country. The main focus of this program is on remote areas where access to quality healthcare services is more limited.
The organization expressed hope that expanding such training centers will improve the quality of health services and ensure access to skilled care for mothers giving birth under difficult conditions.
